Course
Title: NURS 15 The course is designed to prepare an entry level personal care attendant to assist the elderly, ill, or disabled in home, assisted living or day health settings. The content includes basic personal care, simple nursing procedures, basic emotional support and communication skills with clients, families and staff. This is a 5 week course that includes nine hours of and six hours of laboratory per week.

Care and Training For The Caregiver Designed to be helpful and supportive to families as they acquire the caregiving skills they need to provide safe, confident home care. Class 1: Creating healthy home care conditions: infection control; Class 2: How to care for someone on bed rest; Class 3: Personal care (bathing and grooming); Class 4: Vital signs and how to manage medications; Class 5: Safe wheelchair use and the principles of body mechanics; Class 6: Nutrition, taking care of the caregiver.

Short term intensive program This short term, intensive program focuses on preparing students for the Hawaii State Nurse Assistant Competency Evaluation Testing Program. After completing the course and passing the State’s Certification Examination, the graduate is eligible to become a Certified Nurse Assistant Contact Information:
